The theme of Rosalyn's Drexler's exhibit was the representation of violence in society.

1. What type of lighting is used?
The type of lighting in the gallery was overhead lighting with what appeared to be soft light bulbs encased in a glass covering.
2. What colors are used on the walls?
The colors on the walls appeared to be off white except for on the main stairway which was a combination of scribbles that look like steel.
3. What materials are used in the interior architecture of the space?
The materials were not very noticeable so as not to draw attention away from the art work.
4. How is the movement of the viewer through the gallery space?
The movement was set up in a square with wide open hallways which led you to other areas. 

 Questions about the artwork:
1. How are the artworks organized?
It seemed liked a lot of the more popular painting were first that were mostly the same size. Then came paintings that were very large but realistic. After that their were large paintings that were abstract. In this area there were also sculptures. Upstairs were for the particular exhibits were held and some sculptures.
2. How are the artworks similar?
They had impressionist that were similar. The impressionist painting were similar in the way they were recognizable.
3. How are the artworks different?
They were different from style in painting as well as sculptures realistic  and abstract works and even a life size movie of the streets of Bolivia
4. How are the artworks framed?
Most of them were framed with plain wooden frames some had elaborate gold frames and one painting of Niagara falls was framed with copper pipe.
5. How are the artworks identified and labeled?
A card next to the piece usually has a card with the name, date, medium and the collection.
6. What is the proximity of the artwork to each other?
Most smaller paintings were approximately 2 feet apart while the larger paintings often took up a whole wall.

A very realistic and interesting picture of Niagara Falls and the maid of the mist.

2.    Description – Describe what you see.  (subject matter)?

The view seems to be taken from above and show the water and waves in great detail. The mist rising above is painted in a different way than the water but very realistic. In the left bottom corner is a man with a camera. Scientific elements were in the msit as well as the water. The whole thing was framed in a copper pipe.

3.    Formal analysis – (form)  What principles and elements were used and how are they used? There was texture in the water above the falls. There was texture and pattern in the waves. The lines going down the falls showed movement and drew the viewers eyes to the boat. There is balance in the piece since the mist was in the middle.

There were elements from the periodic table drawn in the mist and the water.

5.    Interpretation - (content)  What do you think the artist was trying to say?

I think the artist was trying to say how science and the beauty of nature coexist.

An interesting painting of a group of men sitting around the table.

2.    Description – Describe what you see.  (subject matter)?

It’s mostly black and white with a yellow background.

3.    Formal analysis – (form)  What principles and elements were used and how are they used?

The mono chrome backdrop show emphasis on the men. The balance because both sides of the painting are a mirror image of each other. There’s scale and proportion since the men are larger in the front and get smaller in the background. There’s contrast between there white shirts and black suits and they’re all unified by them sitting around the white table.

It reminds me of a group of men that all have a similar mindset that can be freighting.

5.    Interpretation - (content) What do you think the artist was trying to say?

The artist was trying to give the viewer a chance to decide weather those men are good and evil.

I like this picture because it is a sparsely painted picture of four men at separate intervals on the canvas where there was no balance which drew my attention.

2.    Description – Describe what you see.  (subject matter)?

Four sinister looking men wearing suits with a white background there’s only two other colors one is a pink shirt and one is a blue shirt.

3.    Formal analysis – (form)  What principles and elements were used and how are they used?

Contrast being the white background and dark suits is the most noticeable element. Also, the painting makes you wonder about the space, the men seem to be floating in space.

The two men in the back could be following the men in the front and you are unsure if the men are good or bad.

5.    Interpretation - (content)  What do you think the artist was trying to say?

The one man given with the pink colorful shirt seems to be the leader of the group.
