Mod. 6 Blog

Through the eyes of a sculptor
1. The key concepts of the eye of a sculptor is the extensive process it takes a group of artists to create a sculptor. The many steps that are involved  from the drawing to the clay sculptor then the plaster mold and finally the marble replica.

2. The text talks more about the steps as previously stated in greater detail.

3. I liked the film and was surprised at tall the people involved in making the final product. Also where the marble comes from and how hard it is to excavate it. How the artist can see a statue in the marble and that they say the stone decides fifty percent of what it will be. This brings the statue to life.

Glass and ceramics
1. The different chemical processes that are involved in creating glass and ceramics intrigued me most. Also the many uses of ceramics and how glass is replacing stone in buildings because of its great advantages with heating, cooling, and acoustics.
2. The text did not go into detail of all the ways ceramics was used like its use in the medical field.
3.I did not enjoy the film because it became to technical and had went to in depth with the chemistry of how it was made. These products come from the earth originally and how they used in many other areas besides art.
